J K Chukwu is a writer and visual artist from the Midwest.

 Overall, her writing is rooted in examining the strangeness and depravity of everyday life.  For her art installations and paintings, she uses found objects and unconventional tools such as makeup, lotion, or cleaning supplies to create her work.  

She graduated from the University of Chicago with a BA in English Language and Literature and Gender and Sexuality Studies. 

She has presented her writing and art at University of Wisconsin-Madison, National Louis University, UC Berkeley, and the University of Maryland.

In the fall, she will be attending Brown University for her MFA in Fiction Writing.
